And So It Begins…

I’ve wanted to start a blog like this for a while now.  I adore finding new ways to better run and organize my home and I love, love, love being a wife and mother.  So although the two do not always coincide perfectly, learning to blend my two passions has been an adventure!

Let me start with a confession.  I do NOT think I have this organizational thing all figured out.  I do think I have a lot more figured out now than when I first started ‘playing house’ four years ago.  After reading every single book on the subject I could get my hands on, I’ve learned a lot I get excited about sharing!

The purpose of this blog is two-fold:

1)    To have a place to get to know more like-minded people.  To share ideas, strengths, or gain encouragement in our weaknesses.  (Just so you know, getting a comment from you will probably make my day!)

2)    To have an outlet to share my new home running tricks that I get all excited about.  (My husband’s always there for me to talk with, but he just *can’t* understand how REALLY exciting conquering the laundry pile actually is for me)

Here are some blog post ideas I have to start with:

My new Home Management Binder (home organization, all in one place –the epitome of homemaking deliciousness

How I save (tons of) money cloth-diapering in a low-hassle (and not gross) sort of way

How we keep our household budget under $300 a month

Educational toddler tools and toys I LOVE

My new routine of doing Laundry (since January 2013) that leaves me with empty baskets each and every day

Different things I’ve found helpful in teaching Gabriel all his letters and letter sounds before Age 2

The Cleaning Schedule that works for me (And how I’ve set about to get each room in my home organized at least once a year)

And then there’s the blog post where I start begging on my hands and knees for new potty-training tips, because what we’re doing is JUST. NOT. WORKING.    😉

Well, I’m excited.  Are you with me?  Where should I start first?

Honestly, the most wanted post would probably be how you manage a household budget on $300. What it includes (groceries, bills, etc) and tips for keeping it steady.
Best wishes ; can’t wait to read more! 🙂

I’m very excited that you’ve started this blog. I have been on a mission to get organized and do this mommy/homemaker business in a more efficient manner. I devour anything I can get my hands on that offers ideas. Most of our family and friends look at me like I have 3 heads when they hear about the lifestyle I’m striving towards. We want to be good stewards of everything we’ve been blessed with. We garden and can. I budget. I’m learning how to coupon and stockpile. I have started “Mommy Preschool” with my oldest and fully intend to continue on with homeschooling. Having very little in the way of a support system in these endeavors it’s always exciting to discuss with like-minded women with the same goal of super-wifey-mommy-homemaker-teacher-chef extraordinary. I cannot wait to see how this blog grows and develops I am truly excited. Your diligence and passion will be a blessing to others. 🙂 …also very excited to hear about teaching letters, I can get her to recite and were working on identification but she’s not catching onto their sound yet …or potty training lol I feel your pain and am super curious about cloth diapering for baby #2.

    • It’s so hard to be without a good support system, but I’m happy to help where I can! It was really great hearing from you, Hailey. I know you’re an amazing super-wife-mommy-homemaker-teacher-chef-extraordinaire! 😉

lol this is all very new to me so my daily goal is just to do bettet than I did yesterday that way regardless of how slow it is at least there is forward progress and hopefully one day routine will turn into habit and become second nature
