I like to wait until the baby is down for a nap and then put an educational cartoon on for my toddler. If your baby insists on staying awake, stick him or her in the baby wrap for extra multitasking points! When you’re ready, get everything off your hard floors (chairs, rugs, trash cans) and give the floor a good, thorough sweeping. If you have hard floors in other places in your home (bathrooms?), don’t forget to do those as well. Then bring out the mop and bucket and give it all a good scrub down.
Go cuddle with your kids on the couch and watch cartoons with them (safely in the carpeted area) while the floors in your kitchen and bathrooms dry. In 15-20 minutes, return the chairs and welcome mats to your shiny, jelly-stain free floors. Don’t forget to be super proud of yourself.
Extra Credit Ideas for the Super Motivated:
You know the corners of the room that your mop just pushes dirt into because it can’t reach well? Dampen a Q-tip or two and clean those out. It will feel so nice to have every little corner clean!
