Yesterday, we cleaned our refrigerators. Day #19’s challenge is to Clean Your Freezer!
Things don’t spill as often in our freezer, but occasionally ice will start crusting along the sides. Also, things get lost in there! Today’s the day to empty it out completely, chip off any collected ice and scrub down the shelving. Use a damp cloth, but not a sopping wet one. You don’t want to leave drips of water behind that will turn into ice all over again.
Extra Credit Ideas for the Super Motivated:
Since you already have all the food out, go ahead and toss whatever’s a year old or more, schedule long-forgotten ingredients into an upcoming meal plan, and rearrange the food you put back in a logical manner. I like to use the $1 plastic baskets from Dollar Tree or Walmart to sort my freezer into meat/veggie/miscellaneous divisions. Its amazing how just rearranging the food in your freezer can give you much more space and let you use what’s inside more efficiently!
