Day #20 – Busy Mom’s Spring Cleaning Challenge

day20Day #20’s challenge is to clean your Microwave!  Perhaps you are better at keeping up with your microwave than I am, but mine is filled with sticky spots and who-knows-what splashed along the walls.  It’s kiiiinda gross.  But all that ends today!

To make the wipe down process easier, microwave a bowl of water and lemon juice for several minutes until it’s boiling and steamy.  The moisture helps the icky spots to soften and the lemon juice has antibacterial properties.  Plus, nothing beats that fresh, citrus smell!  If your microwave has a rotating plate in it like mine does, take that out and give it a good scrub down.  A clean, shiny microwave will do wonders for morale, just you watch!

Extra Credit Ideas for the Super Motivated

Take a damp rag and clean the outside of your microwave as well.  Get the tops, sides, window part, buttons, and handle.  Then step back and be super proud of yourself.

Done. Love the steaming bowl of water and lemon trick. Make cleaning the microwave a breeze! Now let’s see if I can catch up on last weeks assignments after being sick all last week.

Done! We mostly just use ours for warming bottles of milk. So it wasn’t too icky in there 🙂

This was a nice one for me…we got rid of our microwave in Texas. Which, was a good thing, because I took a break from my spring cleaning yesterday and the day before for birthday festivities. 🙂
