Day #27 – Busy Mom’s Spring Cleaning Challenge

day27So I’ll just admit it.  Day #27’s challenge is not my favorite household chore.

For many years I tried to get away with the bare minimum in cleaning my toilet.  I’d do a quick wipe down and get any visible ickiness off the surfaces, but I rarely detail cleaned it.  Then I got pregnant and very morning sick.  There’s nothing like having your face inches above that seat several times a day (when you’re already feeling nauseated) to help you notice all the nicks and crannies you’ve been neglecting. (UPDATE:  I am not currently pregnant!  This was just when my toilet-cleaning skills improved!)

Today I’m going to refer you to THIS amazing youtube video.  Even if you’ve been cleaning your home’s toilets for years, I bet you’ll learn at least something new from this video.  The scrubbie brush trick did it for me!  Go ahead and visit Melissa’s Non-Dramatic, Quick, Easy, Not Nasty Way to Clean a Toilet in Less Than 3 Minutes.

Extra Credit Ideas for the Super Motivated:

If you have potty-training little ones in the home, take the time to thoroughly clean the insides and out of any toddler potties or insert seats!

Discovered when I was doing the tub/shower that the husband only cleaned the inside of the toilets….so I cleaned the outsides while I had the cleaning supplies out for the shower 🙂
