What We Got for Christmas

Happy New Years and a late Merry Christmas to my lovely, patient readers. I’m about a week late with this announcement, but I wanted to show off what God gave us on Christmas Day this year.

Introducing… Our little Becket.

He has a cleft chin like his Daddy, a one-sided dimple like his Grandpa, long fingers like his brother, and likes to sleep just like me. 😉

Labor was long and hard (18 hours), but complication free so I can’t complain. My babies eventually make it out, just slowly. Becket and I are both healthy and my husband got that tax deduction he’s been hoping for.

God has been good to us in 2014. I’m looking forward to where He takes us this coming year!

Congratulations! My youngest is a Christmas Eve baby. Everyone said, Oh, that poor kid, he’s going to hate his birthday. I said, Are you kidding me? He’s my ‘get out of Christmas with the in-laws’ card – for life! This kid is going to get everything he wants! He’s 6 now and so far he hasn’t minded having his birthday so close to Christmas. I do make sure his birthday is all about him – we cover up the tree and try not to talk about Christmas until bedtime.

Growing up we always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. If you wanted to make his birthday more about him, you could always do that. I always wanted to carry that tradition into my married life too – it’s very relaxing to get all the hustle and bustle over with and just relax on Christmas Day. My husband never agreed, and when our little guy was born on Christmas Eve, well, that was the end of that idea!
